It’s the FRIDAY FUN RUN, where we learn to run one interval at a time! And today we’re working on SPEED TRAINING with a TEMPO RUN. Don’t let the word speed intimidate you, this workout is accessible to runners of all levels, and can just as easily be done at walking and brisk walking paces!
Difficulty:
Level THREE
Exercise Time:
20 minutes, including warm up and brief cool down
Warm Up and Cool Down:
Both are INCLUDED
Why you’re going to ❤ this run:
It’s time to start giving those legs a little challenge, my friend, and this is just the perfect way to do it. Long-ish intervals at paces to suit your needs.
Where this fits into your routine:
Speed training goes in the “occasionally” column. If you do this too much or too often, you’re likely to get injured.
Who can do this workout safely and well:
Anybody who has been running or walking consistently for at least a few weeks.
Calories Burned:
Somewhere between 100 - 150 (this number depends on your weight and intensity)
⌛ Timer is set for 5 minute intervals.
MAIN WORKOUT:
The first five minutes should be taken at an easy pace, the middle five at a comfortably hard pace, and the final five at an easy pace again.
